Quantifiers in Language: Use & Meaning

I have a great pleasure to announce that together with colleagues from The Linguistic Engineering Group in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences we have just kicked-off a joint research project “Quantifiers in Language: Use & Meaning”. The project is funded by the Polish National Centre Opus Grant. In the project we will build a quantifier corpus for polish language annotated with semantic information.The corpus and the toolkit for detecting and analyzing quantifiers will be freely available online. The project will also research various methodological bases for the development of further natural language corpora annotated with other semantic and pragmatic phenomena. Based on the analysis of the corpus we will also be able to better understand the semantic and cognitive factors responsible for the natural use of language.
